Who am I and what do I do?

Well - My name is Jack Pemberton and I make cool stuff...'simples' as the meerkat says.

On a serious note I aim to make realistic props and replicas, mostly around movies and video games and here is a little history on how this came about.

I have always been creative in some way and when I was twelve my mother sent me on a prop makers course at a local university during the summer term to keep me busy. Naturally I took to it very well and subsequently have been making various bits and pieces ever since. It wasn't until 11 years later (at the grand old age of 23) that I began to make more 'serious' and higher quality props.

It really started when I began making a Halloween costume for myself. It took about a month and during this time I had a number of extra skills under my belt.

It turned out way better than I had first thought and I even won a few costume contests online (under the 'pro' sections would you believe - I cant!). At this point I had an 'ah-hah' moment where I realised that this is ultimately what I was born to do.

Most of my props and replicas are built using various techniques in my garage at home. It's something I really enjoy and I hope that you enjoy the fruits of my labor as it were!

The point of this blog:

I'll be posting up plenty of pictures on a regular basis showing you what I have been up to, what I plan on creating and the finished pieces themselves. Hopefully through all this I can share my experiences with you and we all might learn something new as I will be attempting new things I have never tried before.

Thanks for taking the time to read this post and please feel free to comment and pass judgement as you see fit!

Jack.
